Lake Kennedy Senior Center: Kruisers to tour West Palm Beach area
Once again we can head outdoors and enjoy the wonders of our own corner of paradise, including the activities at the Lake Kennedy Center. DivaDuck
Join the Kennedy Kruisers for an exciting day aboard the "DivaDuck" on Oct. 30 in West Palm Beach.
Hop aboard this unique and fun vessel for a 75-minute tour of infamous City Place. You'll be riding "high" through the streets of downtown and the historic neighborhoods of Old West Palm Beach along the beautiful Flagler Drive to Currie Park.
Once there, the "DivaDuck" leaves her land legs behind and with a "splash" she is now a boat! The tour continues north via the Intracoastal Waterway to see the magnificent mansions of the island of Palm Beach, Peanut Island, the JFK bomb shelter, the manatee viewing area and much more.
The tour ends at City Place for a "Dutch Treat Lunch" and an opportunity to peruse the specialty shops along the promenade. Cost is $68 per member and $78 per non-member. Sign-in time is 8 a.m. with an approximate return time of 6 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Gamble Plantation
The Kennedy Kruisers take a trip back in time as we head to Ellenton for an historic visit to the Gamble Plantation on Nov. 21.
Explore the beautiful antebellum mansion and grounds of the only surviving plantation house in South Florida. Expand your cultural horizons and learn what life was like on a successful mid-19th century plantation.
Following our tour we head to the Prime Outlets for a "Dutch Treat Lunch" and an opportunity to explore more than 130 shops. Cost is $48 per member and $58 per non-member. Sign-in time is 8:30 a.m. with an approximate return time of 4:30 p.m. Preregistration is required. Greyhound track
