Detectives seek information about Shores shoot-out

During a shoot-out Tuesday night at 29 Dogwood Drive Trail, numerous shots were fired, but no serious injuries have been reported.

Sheriff's detectives are classifying the incident as a drug-related, home invasion and are looking for the public's help on several fronts.

First, they would like to know the whereabouts of 48-year-old Terrell Arnette Brown, the reported rental owner of 29 Dogwood Drive Trail.

Detectives have not seen or heard from Brown, who left the home five minutes before to the 10:37 p.m. shooting. Officials said he went to a Winn-Dixie to get ice.

Sheriff's Maj. Chris Blair said investigators need to locate Brown to assure his well-being. Also, he may have some knowledge of the crime or know who was involved.

Brown's mother told investigators she has not seen him since Christmas.

Second, detectives would like to know who's responsible for the shooting. Inside the residence, they found 11 to 12 rounds. They won't say what type of shell casings they found.

Third, detectives want to interview everyone who was at the home at the time of the shooting.

Despite not having any suspects so far, detectives are following up on investigative leads, and they have the description of at least one of the gunmen. He's described as a black man in his 20s who is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark hoodie.

At least two weapons were found, and there were bullet holes in three rooms. Authorities said people inside the home also may have been armed.

Blair said agents from the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team were called in, and MADET officials obtained a search warrant for the home. Blair wouldn't say much about what was recovered from the residence.

On Tuesday night, the Sheriff's Office received a call saying a woman was knocking on a resident's home, screaming for the people inside to call 911.

On scene, a deputy said the woman, whom detectives declined to identify, approached the patrol car and told them that some men had kicked opened a door and started shooting.

While the victim was talking, the deputy said he noticed three people exiting 29 Dogwood Drive Trail. They jumped into a white Dodge Charger and left. Two deputies entered the home to make sure no one was injured or inside. They saw drug paraphernalia, along with bullet holes in the walls.

The woman told investigators she was at the residence cooking for a friend when another man sitting in the living room saw someone approach the door. The woman said she saw a man wearing a hoddie at the glass door with a large gun. He broke the glass.

She ran to the back bedroom and heard gunshots. She told officials that she broke a window, jumped out and ran next door to call 911. She had cuts on her right hand and arm and was treated at the scene.

Inside the home, officials found the bullet holes, but no sign of bloods or any injuries. The woman told deputies Brown had left about five minutes before the shooting.
