World Poker Tour Champ Pockets $2.1 M

Raised in Washington State, born in the Ukraine, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, aka, "Jovial Gent" a 21 year old young man has won the World Poker Tour in Las Vegas Nevada USA. Taking the championship title and prize money of $2.1 Million at one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world, held at the world famous Bellagio Hotel and Casino.
The intelligent and happy young man has been playing online poker since he was old enough and has quite a few titles to his credit. Known as one of the hardest tournaments on the poker circuit the World Poker Tour Championship attracts the best players from around the globe. The $25,000 buy-in fee, is no deterent to would be players, who consider this tournament second only to the World Series Of Poker main event. Last year, Danish born Peter Eastgate entered the record books, as the youngest ever winner of the World Series Of Poker Main Event at just 22 years old.
Over 300 players fought it out at the Bellagio for the top prize. The prize pool of over $8.4 Million, was established, and out of the initial 300 gamers only the top 50 would earn any cash.
Back in November of 2006 the professional champion Timoshenko won $250,000 in the Sunday Millions Poker Stars online competition. Playing in countries where it is legal for this youth to play he has garnered a number of wins in the $100 to $200 rebuys.
The World Poker Tour was not Timoshenko's first major event win. He has had major gains in some of the other big name events. The Irish Poker Open, Paris Open, the Aussie Millions and most notably the 2008 APPT Macau main event have all been on the champion's list of outings. To date Timoshenko has won $3,134,598, not bad for a twenty one year old.
