NIC seeking performers

* The Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center is looking for children's dance companies, kids' theatre troupes, instrumental groups, mimes, buskers, balloon clowns and jugglers who would like to entertain at this summer's NIC Fest, June 20-21. This year the children's area will be in the courtyard just outside the Discovery Center with a stage for entertainment. If you are interested in performing, call 235-5247.

Sled Dog Races

* Feb. 9-10, Casper Mountain Sled Dog races will be held in Beartrap Meadow atop Casper Mountain. The Annual race raises funds for local not-for-profit organizations. Sprint, mid-distance, novice and junior sled races are featured for all skill levels, as well as skijoring. The disABILITY Dash features a specially; designed sled for kids from the ARC. Feb. 9, a banquet honoring the mushers and a fund-raising auction to benefit the ARC of Natrona County will be held at the Parkway Plaza following the races. All proceeds from race entry fees, sled sponsors and proceeds from the banquet/auction will benefit children's services at the ARC.

Newborns In Need

* Newborns in Need (NIN) is a nonprofit charity that specializes in the needs of premature and newborn babies that are sick or in crises by providing essential items to hospitals, homeless shelters, crises centers, and county health units, etc. NIN schedules work day meetings from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Life Steps Campus, 1514 E. 12th in the cafeteria (Building L).
