1: the grade school stuff..
I cleaned my closet today. Why? Let's just say it's the time of the moment thing that I've decided to clean and discard things and some memoirs from the good old days... Time to move on! Ha-ha.. Good old days, yeah, really! As I opened my buried stationary chest (a big shoebox), I found letters and other memorabilia from when I was still in grade school.

City Center officially opens Wednesday, unwrapping its luxury spas, casino and new Elvis Presley tribute.

4: Ladies, loos and the mysteries thereof
Yesterday, someone asked via the comments of this blog if I "do requests". Well, it has occasionally happened, though sadly never at karaoke and never Hero by Mariah Carey (look, I know it's the worst song ever but if you're doing karaoke the implication is that you've already shrugged off the shackles of "taste" and "refinement" so I think you should just go all the way into tacky and be done with it).

5: Is Levitt a Celebrity? It Depends on Your Definition ...
(In the deal I excluded the U of C campus area, because people know me there just because I am a professor.) It was an easy bet to make, because I have been me for a long time and I know exactly how often strangers recognize me: never. I was almost certain that I would not have to pay a cent.

6: Bellagio 15k, Timberlake Pro Am, Packers Game, Vegas, Vegas, Vegas!!
I have been very lucky in poker and in life, and I recognize that I am truly blessed! This is no religious statement, but I say a hearty "Thank you" to the powers that be. For my part, I donate money to charity every year, I send an endless stream of "Swag" (signed books, signed pics, hats, shirts, and bobble head dolls) to charity auctions, I do not do drugs, I do not abuse alcohol, I emcee charity events (like my upcoming www.Holdemforheroes.com), and I stay loyal and true to my wife and children.

7: Coffee, Salt and Light, and the Essence and Use of the Christian ...
The Terra Firma blend was indeed bootylicious, complex with long palate, as advertised, unfairly disadvantaging the Sulawesi Today, Tomorrow, Toraja that came after. A bag of Terra Firma, ground on the spot with the dial at 5.5, for the stovetop, was delicious stuff; a beacon of light amongst the soured drainwater of big chain coffeehouses.

TARPON SPRINGS - A man's house is his castle, but often the real throne is somewhere in the two-car garage. Jerry Wien isn't above gloating. His 400 square feet are the envy of the neighborhood. Cars pastured permanently in the driveway, the bay has been screened in to allow for the breeze without skeeters.

10: Fickle Freddy, Funny Thursday
Well, Hurricane Fred is puttering and sputtering at 5mph with 90mph winds. He is expected to become near stationary, while he thinks long and hard about his next move. Hopefully he will stay far, far away from us in the BVI! I had a wild day in town. Had to run back to the mechanic to get something tweaked, town traffic lights were off , so traffic moved really fast with no snags.
