2008 Muskingum Youth Football Clinic

Muskingum Youth Football Clinic NEW CONCORD - The Muskingum College football team will hold a free youth football clinic for boys in grades 3-7 on Saturday, April 5.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at McConagha Stadium on campus and the day ends approximately at noon. Each camper will receive a Muskie Football t-shirt.

Tri-Valley spring soccer registration Deadline is March 1 for Tri-Valley spring youth soccer registration, open to all Tri-Valley students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

All schools should have the forms, or they can pick them up at the concession stand at the AEP Fields or at Exxon on State Route 60 north.

Cost is $25 for the first child, $20 for the second and $15 for each additional child.

Indoor scramble for Philo football PHILO - The Philo football team will be having a four-man indoor golf scramble at Electric Links Golf Club in Philo.

Cost is $45 for each person which includes skins, putting contest, longest drive, closest to the pin, string game, and food and drinks on March 1. Prizes will be given out to the top three places (based on at least 10 teams entered). Your team must contact Electric Links at 280-0191 to reserve a tee time.

The scramble will last the entire month of February. Rounds must be completed by Friday, Feb. 29. There are two golf simulators available at Electric Links. All prizes will be given out at the dinner to be held Saturday, March 1, at a time and place to be determined. Food and drink will be provided to all participants.

ROSA spring soccer signups The Zanesville Recreation Department and Riverside Outdoor Soccer Association (ROSA) are sponsoring a spring soccer program. Youth in pre-school through grade eight are eligible to participate.

Games for the spring program will be scheduled to begin April 5 and run through May 17. Registration of players is continuing through Friday, Feb. 29, at the Recreation Office, City Hall 401 Market St., Zanesville. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may also register by mail addressed to the City of Zanesville, Recreation Office, 401 Market St., Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Registration cost is $12 per child ($10 Footsie) for children residing within the City of Zanesville and $16 per child ($12 Footsie) for children residing outside the city limits. Reduced fees are available for registration of more than one family member. Please fill out a form for each child to insure placement in the correct division.

Jarrett Construction cornhole tournament The Jarrett Construction softball team is hosting a cornhole tourney at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Newton Fire Station.

Cost is $20 per two-player team for the double-elimination event. Call Travis to make reservations at 819-5256 as number of teams will be limited.

Frazeysburg-Nashport hosting pancake breakfast The Frazeysburg-Nashport Youth League will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Frazeysburg VFW Hall.

Cost is $5.

In addition, player registration will be held until 2 p.m. that day for anyone interested in participating this season.

Maysville selling tournament tickets Tickets for the Maysville Division II boys sectional game scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1, at Coshocton High School, and the girls Division II district finals game slated for Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Ohio University-Eastern are on sale during school hours in the high school office.

Tickets are $4 pre-sale and are $6 at the door.

The Panthers play the Morgan-John Glenn winner at 8 p.m. Monday at Coshocton, while the Lady Panthers face the Steubenville-Beaver Local winner at 7 p.m. Wednesday at OU-Eastern.

Muskingum Family Y Strong Kids Run, Walk The Muskingum Family YMCA Strong Kids Run and Mile Fun Run/Walk will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, starting and finishing at the Y on McIntire Avenue.

The Strong Kids Run is 2.6 miles. Entry fee for both events is $15 prior to Feb. 23 which includes a race T-shirt to each participant. Cost is $20 on race day. Age 15 years and younger is only $7 per child. The event will be held rain, snow, ice or shine and there will be no refunds. Beverages, snacks and door prizes wil be available. No prizes will be awarded.

All proceeds go to the 2008 Strong Kids Campaign which provides assistance for hundreds of families throughout the community. For more information, call the Y at 453-9622.

West M Boosters Texas Hold 'em West Muskingum Athletic Boosters will host a Texas Hold'em tourney April 18-19 at Booster Hall in Licking View.

On April 18, doors open at 4 p.m.there will be no limit and limit cash tables witn no rake and $5 per hour seat charge. At 5 p.m. will be a $20 speed tournament with 60 percent payout, and at 7 p.m. will be a $45 buy-in. There will be sit and goes and a single table tournament with $20 satellite for $1,100 Philo Boosters.

April 19, doors open at 10 a.m. with no limit and limit cash tables, no rake and $5 per hour seat charge. At 10 and 11 a.m. will be $20 satellite for $1,100 Philo Boosters, $30 buy-in at noon, $45 buy-in at 3:30, ultimate team Texas Hold'em at $90 per team at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m. will be a $65 satellite for the $1,100 Philo Boosters with the winner playing heads up against another winner.

Open gym for Philo junior high fastpitch Philo Junior High fastpitch softball is having open gym on Sunday Feb. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the auxiliary gym at Philo High School.

There will be a meeting immediately following the open gym.

Maysville Youth League signups Maysville Youth League signup for softball, baseball and Babe Ruth will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17 at the old Maysville High School gym.

Registrations can also be filled out from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays at the T and Top Shop.
