The Michigan Dance Project will present Art Kinetic, an eclectic collection of modern, jazz, ballet and lyrical works choreographed and performed by the MDP and specially invited guests from the southeast Michigan area. The show also includes some live musical accompaniment by Detroit artist Bryan Strimpel. The show is for all ages, and begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts. Homeless program

The Livingston County Homeless Continuum of Care will hold the first annual Community Connect from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Patrick Parish Life Center, 710 Rickett Road, Brighton. The one-day event is meant to help the homeless and others to information and services such as housing assistance, health screenings, mental-health screenings, flu shots, legal consultation, employment counseling, food services, clothing and other personal needs. On-site free child care will be offered. Books for the children and lunch is provided along with live entertainment. Those requiring transportation should call Arc of Livingston at (877) 272-4729.

Vegas night

The first annual Bowling Tournament Fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation is hosted by Striking Lanes, 1535 Old U.S. 23 in Hartland Township. Hospice of Michigan will host a free six-week series of grief-support meetings. Meetings will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesdays at the Brighton District Library, 100 Library Drive, Brighton. Sessions will offer insights and coping skills for adults dealing with the loss of a loved one, and the normalization of feelings and reactions, such as denial, fear, anger and depression.
